I have recently set up a new site called helpthehumans.com with my friend and writer Mike Tolentino.

It’s sort of like Mystery Science Theater 3000, but for comics and short stories that we create.

There’s comic strips that follow our site narrators, and we have begun our first short story called ‘The Knights of Were’.

The DB Inks presents strips will be appearing on t here, and

here too shortly.

They will also be under the new official name ‘Certified’. Feels good to be creating fun stuff.

I read a news story this morning about teachers getting pink slips for the third straight year so our vaulted politicians could pass a budget.

This makes me sick.

Why do we cut back on teachers, hurting our kids, hurting our future, when there has to be other alternatives to getting this blasted state out of it’s deficit? Hey Sacramento, I’m a voter

and more importantly a tax payer.

Spend my money wisely or give it back.

Good morning, good evening, or just plain

good day to you curious viewer.

It’s been a little while since my last post and I thought it would be a good time to post an update to let you know what’s been going on here at DB Inks HQ. A lot and a little all at the same time…

Presently, the family have been fighting off colds. It hasn’t been pleasant to see them all go through it, while I have been mostly fine, but everyone finally seems to be getting better.

In more exciting, and healthy news, everyone here is getting jazzed up for the Superbowl!

Two of my favorite teams are playing, and it is very exciting to finally care about the game!

The past few years have been a little lackluster for me, and it was hard to get pumped up for the game. So ‘Go Pack’ and good luck Steelers, lets see what happens Sunday!

And now for DB Inks…

I have been plotting, plotting and more plotting.

A few months ago I did a couple of comic strips that I shared here called ‘DB Inks Presents’, and I really enjoyed the characters. However, I quickly re alized th

at the grind of doing a comic strip is more than I can handle.

There’s just not enough hours in a day for me to draw them at the speed I go, put the detail I want to

put into them, and still have time for my family.

And there’s nothing wrong with that either. Nope nothing wrong, nothing wrong at all, except for the fact that I want to share what I had planned

for those characters. So I have decided to switch gears, and bring to you the story of the ‘DB Inks Presents’ characters, Milt, Martin and Layla, in a different format.

Starting in March look for what I am simply calling ‘Illustrated Stories’. Once a week I’ll be posting a short story following our goofy band of characters with one or two simple illustrations to give them a little more interesting feel than just plain text.

I am looking forward to them and hope you will enjoy them too!
